WHAT ENGLEWOOD, VENICE AND BOCA GRANDE BEACHES ARE OPEN OR CLOSED AFTER HURRICANE MILTON?
There has been plenty of destruction along the beaches, but most beaches have opened back up. Hurricane Helene and Milton moved so much sand that it has caused either terrible erosion in some places or mountains of sand. ​​

Stump Pass Beach is open!! They have portable restrooms available and you can pay for parking using your phone.

Both the southern and northern lots are open as well as the public parking lot past The White Elephant.

Parking, Porta-potties, and beach access are all available. The portion of Manasota Key Rd. adjacent to the park was washed out. Road repairs are not anticipated to be completed for 2-3 years. Access to the park is from the south through Charlotte County and the Tom Adams Bridge.

During Hurricane Milton Harbor Dr. leading into the park was washed out. It anticipated that the road will be repaired in 2-4 years. The beach, nature trails, pavilion, fitness area, and overlook are open to the public. The playground, utilities and restrooms will remain closed. The park is operating as a pedestrian and bicycle access only park with parking available at South Brohard Park, or access via the Venetian Waterway Trail. There is no vehicle parking at Caspersen Beach. Updated 8/25/2025.

The park is open to the public. However, a portion of the parking lot is closed due to storm damages. A contract is being secured for the necessary repairs. Permanent repair work will begin with an anticipated completion of Fall 2026. These repairs will address parking lots, fencing, the playground, and other park amenities. Currently all amenities are open to the public including the concession. Updated 8/25/2025.
